At its infancy, PHILCOPY CORPORATION engaged in the sales and distribution of MITA copiers and UCHIDA office printing system after it was granted exclusive distributorship in the Philippines by Mita Industrial Co., Ltd. and Uchida Yoko Co., Ltd. of Japan.
By the mid-1980's, the company started marketing PANASONIC electronic typewriters. With the advent of the 90's and a growing global economy, the company recognized the trend and the needs of its growing clients for state-of-the-art office equipment. Thus, it started introducing to the market diverse product lines such as SANYO facsimile, DAHLE paper cutting products, LIESEGANG audio-visual projection products, DISPLAYMATE interactive whiteboard, WOLFVISION Visualizers, and NICHIGAKU Plantage electronic print boards. During the same period, distribution of MITA document imaging products grew to include advanced plain paper laser facsimiles and digital multi-functional office systems.
In 1998, PHILCOPY rolled out the Digital Copier/ Network Laser Printer to meet the market demands for high-tech network connectivity. The company's other quality products is the METEOR SIEGEN semi-dry diazo printer which copies blueprints without the irritating ammonia odor, ECOSYS laser printers, ROYAL SOVEREIGN Laminators and Shredders and the NOVUS Staplers. The latest addition to PHILCOPY's prestigious line of quality products is the SMART ID Card Printers from SMARCOM, a company based in Korea.
In January 2000, MITA has been renamed KYOCERA-MITA to mark its start under the Kyocera Group of Companies. Kyocera, established in 1959, is an electronics manufacturing giant in Japan. The combined strengths of both companies promise innovative and dynamic solutions for the workplace.
